I ship so much stuff that having enough packing material is always a problem. I've started using rolls of kraft paper, and I buy new boxes from uline.

Yes.....the struggle is real.

I've discovered this stuff at work.



It is some kind of foam foil, it's very soft and compressible.
It is extremely lightweight while featuring cushioning volume.
I like it better than foam peanuts and bubble wrap.

We use it to protect painted surfaces of cast iron parts stacked one upon another at work.

Nevermind the weight in the picture showing my hand, that is to give scale of the foil volume.
The third picture shows the actual weight of that stack of foil.

My favorite box is a copier paper box. Most saws fit if you remove the handle.Snug,so they can't flop much. Fill the voids with your favorite material ,fit the lid over and tape the chit out of it. No complaints yet. If you expect a cardboard box to hold a saw you're kidding yourself,you need a crate. That's why you use quality fibrous tape , make sure it goes all the way around and laps itself.

Yep, I too duck tape the box all around.
Although I use regular duck tape.

I also like to reinforce the box by doubling it up with additional cardboard placed on the inside - makes the box much more sturdy.
