I got this weed eater several years ago and had to replace the shaft tube. Some how the operator present lever got misplaced so I just put it together without it. Big mistake. While weed eating today I had a string get wrapped around the head so I let the back end swing on the shoulder strap and reached up to get it. Another big mistake, the throttle hit my leg and wore my hand out! image.jpegIt could have been a lot worse and again it could have never happened. Lesson learned for me!

I'm not going to lie, I always remove the guard on my trimmers. I bet that sucked though.

I don't reach into the clutch cover. I've found if you pull loose what is exposed and pull the chain across a log a few times it'll free up.

My high school shop teacher had a saying and it's always stuck with me.

He always said that when your gonna put your hand someplace dangerous to always pause and think to yourself "would you put you pecker there?" If the answer is NO then don't put your hand there.

At the time we all laughed but it does make sense

Ain't had that happen, but I did get a good cut from a chainsaw on my leg. Was walking in tall brush while the chain was slowing down and next thing I new the chain was stopped in my leg. Guess I lifted my leg to high and tilted the saw to low. lol Chain brakes are there for a reason.
