I am doing a base gasket delete on my 026 which has a paper base gasket that wants to come up in very small pieces. What is the best method you guys have found for getting all of a baked on paper gasket off of a case? I am trying to be as clean as possible to avoid having to pull the seals to flush any pieces out of the crankcase. Thanks for any help.

I used a new razor blade just make sure none goes in case ?
Also on mine I had to make a gasket .10 cause squish was around.10 to .12 so I ended around .20 ? I didn't remember now but make sure to measure yours ...

Ive used the wide, square exacto knife blade on mine. It fits the narrow confines and you won't gouge.

I've used that permatex gasket remover and was less than impressed with the way it took off gasket material, even ones in pieces. Maybe it was something I did? Dont know but I use the exacto knife and some brake cleaner and it works for me. Sometimes get my fingernails to do the very little pieces...
