I was wondering about grease for my FS560C. Sadly it doesn't have the removable plug.

I have some Molly grease here, that should be fine for the head.

There doesn't seem to be much info for them.

You can make your own plug by drilling a hole, planned obsolescence is getting out of hand, echo sells some good gear grease and no grease lasts a lifetime while in use.

Yes. Believe it or not, it is like this. If you go to your workshop and have them dismantle the gearhead they can re-grease it. But for the user it is not possible to grease it, because it is made with lifetime grease filling.

Ok, well I didn't listen to what you said about the lifetime grease and opened it up and found a lack of grease as I figured. Pumped about 10 shots into the head and reassembled it. There is a small set screw on the head that probably can be changed out for a grease zurk.

After I put the new grease I ran it for 20 min or so and the head doesn't get anywhere near as hot as it did.

Got a few hours of work for it so I'll find out soon enough.

Thanks anyway

Don`t overgrease it. It will get hot too if there is to much grease in it. Total amount of grease for that gearhead is 19g.

There might have been 1g of grease in the head left when I opened it up.

It's not a sealed unit so it doesn't pressure up when it gets hot.

Ran it for a couple of hours and it worked fine. Head didn't get hot at all.

Uh, that wasn`t much what was left in there. Glad that it works fine now.
