I try to heat primarily with wood but have a Propane furnace to supplement when it gets really cold. I also use propane for hot water and to cook with.
I have a 1,000 gal tank and generally get 500 gal every other year.
This morning I ordered gas, just to be sure I had enough, if these temps stay low all winter.
I was surprised that the current price in mid Mo is $1.70 a gal.
With the cold weather across most of the country and a forecast for more of the same, I expected the price to be higher.
What are you guys paying?
Are prices staying reasonable across the country?

When we built our house, the first fill was $.89 a gallon. That was in 1997.
A few years ago it got to $4.00+ a gallon. I was glad I filled up early and had plenty of wood. There were a lot of cold homes that winter.

$1.39 a gallon here, last year this time it was 0.98 a gallon.

I only go threw about 160-170 gallons a year, just need it for the hot water heater.

When it gets cold, propane prices are usually always raised. I never raise my price of firewood from October to March. In my book, that's gouging. If I stock out, I let the customer know that and give them a delayed delivery date.
