Good morning, any manuals available for a Pioneer 450 chainsaw?
Thanks

Thanks for those manuals, a little background here , I picked this saw up at a flea market, going to hopefully restore it. The one major problem I have found so far is that the threads for the spark plug are stripped out although the plug does tighten up, any thoughts?
Thanks

I haven't dealt with that problem. Quite a few kits on amazon. Best to ask in the chainsaw forum.

I’ll do more research on the Helicoil, working on ignition now trying to figure out how to set the points, it says 30* BTDC , how do I determine that? Can I assume that the high point on the shaft should be 30* BTDC.
Thanks

Hi All, how can I tell the age of this saw, also do the gears that engage the flywheel get lubricated?
Thanks

IIRC @srcarr52 has done repairs by welding up the fubered hole and remanufacturing such that it appears factory fresh.

Good morning, all set with the insert, now I need to make a head gasket and an exhaust port gasket, looking for recommendations as to what material would be the best choice and least expensive.
Also just found out this is a rotary valve type engine, never heard of that before so I am leaning something new.IMG_3854.jpeg

Attached is the full Pioneer shop manual. Pages 3-4 have some info on the rotary valve intake system.
