Hi.

I need some cheap .325 .058 for resale saws.
A vendor here is offering 400dl of some Windsor 58J. My quick google search didn't turn up much favourable to say about it.
Any real world opinions on here?

I’m not familiar with that specific model number but I have been running some 3/8 old stock Windsor and it’s been really good. It’s semi chisel and pretty durable. I personally will run anything unless it’s on a long bar. Then I’m a little picky. That said I’ve run a good bit of archer on my falling saw and had really decent luck with it. When it’s gone I’ll go back to Oregon but that’s just personal preference

Cheers Jake. I bought the roll in the end anyway. Figured branded chain at half what I would normally pay for my preferred Lpx couldn't be all bad.

I have a single 84DL Windsor loop, full chisel.
I filed it today and made a test cut, did quite well in turkey oak.

In the pastWindsor was for me usually a bit softer then most the name brands. Noticed it most breaking chains for loops and filing which quicker filing I viewed as an advantage. It still seemed to hold an edge well also.
I had a fair amount of 3/8 semi chisel Sandvik -Windsor chain that seems harder and holds an edge as well or better then anything I used including stihl rm.

I have 2 1/2 tanks of fuel on this half worn Windsor 58A full chisel, full complement chain and it is still cutting great (videos soon).
3/8" 24"/84DL, Archer FastFiler guide round filed - bucking exclusively oak and turkey oak, dry and semi dry.

This loop I have impresses me unlike any other I have been using!
