    One other point.

Meteors don’t have a lot of “rib” on the side either. Run them for a while and the valleys get some carbon while the peaks stay clean. The contrast that occurs makes it more apparent.

Ever see a new oem piston look a bit rubbed after a build and then “clean up”? I certainly have. The valleys fill and the small rubs on the peaks lose their contrast. The small rubs become invisible, as they are solely on the peaks of the machine marks.

There is a good chance that some machine marks become apparent on the Hyway slug after use.

The bevel at the bottom of the piston is there to direct oil to the cylinder wall.

Was looking at first pictures and seen a spot so went and looked again.
What does everyone think of this tiny bad spot on OEM piston. 41A4D86C-694D-45A2-B36F-E8E3EE505CEA.jpeg

Flaw on a OEM part, expensive or not, has always pissed me more than flaw on a AM part. That's what you pay for, flawless quality, right??

That tiney little casting imperfection is meaningless to me. I get why someone would expect perfection but i honestly dont think it would make any difference atall. If one was to look at every part under magnification of a oem saw im sure you would find several casting errors. Keep in mind guys its a saw not a spaceship lol. If we forced them to perfection that same saw would double in cost in a hurry.

That tiny pore is completely inconsequential.

Thanks guys I didn’t actually see it taking pictures but seen it posting the pictures. I didn’t figure it’d make any difference but wasn’t sure with heating and cooling of piston. Thanks
