The 1100VL is a nice saw, Although not much info is out there. I have the same saw
that actually came from your area. The 1100VL was replaced by the CS1200 and
then replaced by the CS1201 which is still in production. All @ 116cc. I have never
cut with my 1100VL but I do have 3 new 1201's and they cut awesome. They pull
like a freight train. I have a 42 inch bar on one and it is a hoot to run.

Here is my 1100VL

Here is a new CS1201

Wow!! Where did you get that thing? I take it that Echo USA wouldn't approve of it being here.

Parts for the CS-1201 are readily available in the USA so there must be more than a few of them out there. I guess Stihl and Husky have such a stranglehold on the big saw market here that Echo doesn't find worthwhile to go through all the stuff required to officially sell the 1201 here. I read on the chainsaw collectors forum that the 1201 is quite popular across the Rio Grande. Maybe there are caches of them hidden in the border area!

Parts have become available in the past couple or so years. Not sure why as
the saws them selfs are only available in a few countries. Asia, Malaysia and
I had heard possibly Africa and possibly some others. They are not available
in the USA. They will not meet our government standards with no chain brake,
No emissions and noise.

I can understand why Echo wouldn't think it worthwhile to go to the trouble and expense of bringing it up to USA safety and smog standards when the market for this size of saw is miniscule and dominated by two ogres.

I don't have both IPLs to compare. I think the ignition systems are different
but the rest of the saw looks to be the same. I'd have to put them side by side
to compare.
