Simple thread here...I've got an opportunity to pick up a nice clean 2095 for a good price but I don't know a lot about the model. I "assume" it's equivalent to a 395XP. If that's true; Does it share parts with its orange cousin? Or is it a unique Jonsered saw like the 2051 that doesn't cross over into Husqvarna stuff (engine wise)? Should I jump at the opportunity to get it or let it go by? I appreciate any info you guys can offer.

It may share a few pieces with the 390, but it's a completely different design more similar to the 920/930 with the fuel tank as part of the crankcase. Great saw, but check spare parts availability before you go too far.

Great info thanks! I can definitely see the similarities between it and a 930. I'm awful tempted to pick it up, looks to be in excellent condition.

I think you could find most parts used if needed, but check on the intake boot. Last time I searched for a new boot they were NLA and I don't think it's the same as a Husky boot.

That's the kind of saw you take to a gtg and every one is like wow. Everyone and there brother has a Stihl 044 or husky 372 or something. That's why I'll never sell my 930, if that 2095 is in mint shape id say go for it ! Worst it could need is fuel line or seals if it's in good condition.

The 2094/2095 share a couple parts with the 394/394: clutch and drum, oil pump worm gear on the 2095 (2094 can be converted), piston and rings can be crossed over, crankshaft is the same dimensions and can be crossed over, and oil pump. Everything else is different. But they are more alike the 394/395 than any other saw. In true Jonsered fashion of that era they are a strange animal. They have more of their stroke length in the case rather than in the cylinder like the 394/395. This means you pretty much have to have a 2094/2095 cylinder if you need to swap top ends. The last few of these I've built I used Meteor 395 piston kits.

Thanks for the replies, exactly the kind of info I need. The saw isn't NOS but it's very good condition. The guy is asking $600 for it. It seems reasonable to me, not a steal but not overpriced. Opinions on the price? Comes with a well used 24" B&C

And here I was thinking the 2095 is new enough to be a red clone of a 394
That's why I asked. It looks different enough to make me question whether it was a crossover to Husqvarna. Some stuff does but not as much as I thought would.

Well the 2095 won't be taking up residence in my barn. I've been conversing with the seller regarding a 359 and a 2071 and he's decided to keep the 2095 in the family. Thanks to everyone for posting up info, I learned a lot.
