Beau is in the process of restoring one at the moment. Im eager to see that one laid in some wood.

Nice you found a seller that would export. For some reason a lot of German eBay sellers won't ship out of the EU.

Honestly I'm impressed too. They guy has good feeback, he's sold other saws globally.

The crankcases aren't the same between the 106 and 137cc saws, so make sure you research that out before attempting a top end swap.

The 106cc saws run pretty good though and I have a feeling you'll be pretty happy with it.

They are worth a bit more if they have this tag on them,

Holy Batman, that sure is a nice one with a good original top cover. When I stripped down my Contra to tidy it up and get it running I got a real sense that quality and reliability were major factors in the contrast design. They were even marketed on the basis they were new generation one man saws that required little maintenance that could be run day in day out. Studying a contra can make one question 'how far' we have come near 70 years on in saw design. They rev up fast too them contras!1466036332944.jpg
That's my one I rescued from the scrap metal pile at my local tip. Not pretty but very clean on the inside and runs really well. I love my Contra.

we shall see soon.....I hope it does. It's on its way from Germany as we speak.

That tag says "1106 S", if I'm not mistaken that's the "Super", no?

Imma wait til she gets here (from Germany) before I assess what I really want to do with her. From what I can see in the pics, she don't need too awful much cosmetically. Might re-do the filter cover, clutch cover and bottom plate. And I might make an obnoxious pipe for her. And I MIGHT even put a 66mm P/C on her.....who knows.

At any rate, I promise I won't hack her up. And I'll keep all the original parts so I can always put her back to original should I want to...

I wouldn't "re-do" anything that just shows that it has been used if it was mine - imo it ruins the collectors value. Fixing mechanical defects is a different issue.
