View attachment 52352 Got my piston in the mail from @Definitive Dave today. He ran out of the Farmertec I ordered, so he sent a Meteor so I wouldn't be without! Two big thumbs up on the customer service!! Definitely a difference between the two pistons...

Mine got here yesterday as well. Can't beat Dave for service.[emoji108]

Prolly finish assembly today provided I get the bottom front AV seated proper. Hardest part of 361 assembly for this geezer.

Circlip on crank PTO side served no useful function so I left it off when I changed out the seal.

Rethinking this. Put in a circlip on 361 #2.

The circlip provides a shoulder to take the thrust from the oil pump drive wormgear.

Neither my first or second kit contained a circlip.

I was gonna mention this. Glad you figured that out.

IMG_0128.JPG Hey @67L36Driver.

Finally got some actual assembly time in this afternoon. Goobered up the PTO side seal a tad, so I changed it out. Ended up with .024" without a gasket. - I used the original Farmertec piston because i wanted to see how it does instead of the Meteor. What did your squish end up at?

Also, do you do any opening up of the inside baffle on your muff mod? I have two gutted and welded mufflers on the bench, but I am planning to just punch a hole and put a deflector on this kit. I'm hoping to get mine looking like yours tomorrow while the kids are at a birthday party.

You know the sweet thing about these kits is that I assembled most of it in the living room and my wife seems ok with it!

Assembled mine yesterday and today with the dining room table serving as the parts storage and the kitchen island as my workbench.

Blondie was not happy about it.

Garage has been below 50 until afternoon.[emoji21]

'Squish' is not something I worry about given the shoddy cylinder casting.

From what I can see the muffler baffle has enuff holes to be a non issue. Just needs a larger exit.

Good point on the casting quality.

So far I'm not coming up short on any more parts, except for a little rubber part that is supposed to go on top somewhere. I do have an extra piece that I can't, for the life of me figure out where it goes.

BTW, I wish my garage was 50 degrees!

Go back and check your flywheel nut. Use blue Locktite to boot.

Dang! Thanks Driver. I just put the last bolt in the recoil cover in five minutes ago! I'll pull that nut and get some locktite on it asap!

Get a flange nut. Not the plain hex nut contained in the kit.

I'm going to make a tapered key to use as much of the keyway as possible. About 5/16" long, tapered from 3mm square.

External star lockwasher under the nut and blue Locktite.

Hope you get it to stay tight, it's not a lot of fun tearing stuff apart again and again.

Fired up mine about a half hour ago. Ran like a champ for about five minutes. Idled nice and burbled at wide open. Started chasing tune after that. Thought maybe bad vent, but opening fuel cap didn't help. Feels like it's getting lean. I'll play with it in the morning.

I was able to get a stihl nut off of a basket case i have, along with a chain tensioner. After reading about how chintzy the farmertec tensioners are, I see what everyone is talking about. IMG_0130.JPG IMG_0131.JPG Overall, it's a fun build. I hope I don't have too much aggravation getting it to run right.

The carb on them have a stiff plastic fuel pump diaphragm.

I have to bottle feed mine to get it started.

I Find the chain tensioners are 'crunchy' but serviceable. Not like one uses it constantly.
