Sorry, wasn't making a dig at you, just pointing out that the recoil isn't an origional 298 recoil. It shouldn't detract from the saw unless the buyer wants an all original saw. The 298 plastic recoils weren't as robust as the 285/2100/2100 style which are cast.

Ok, I see what you mean. I wouldn't want a plastic recoil on this saw. The compression when starting this saw is insane! I see why the plastic ones didn't last.
