Hey everybody, first post, thank you all for all of the information I have learned here so far. I just bought this Husky 2101, is this spot on the piston the start of a problem, or nothing, what do you think?

The picture is in the eBay link. Looks to me like light carbon scoring maybe just pull the muffler and see if you can feel it. If it has good compression not sure if it would bother. Could always take it apart and clean and rering it?

Looks to me, that it is possibly the start of a problem. Be sure to check for any air leaks…it looks minor at this point. You’ll want to make sure there is no aluminum transfer starting as well. It could be carbon scoring…but well worth pulling it down, making sure the cylinder is clean, and getting some new rings for it.
