The OD. Isn’t .780ish, but is still smaller than the worm gear dia. $14 for 10 seems like a good enough deal to see if they will work. I’ll measure a crank tomorrow after work to see if .500” will work…DD258B40-3417-4AD7-A677-D36620F6A329.png

Ok gurus, is the Johnny cases the same top cover hole configuration as the Husky? Front top cover screw forward of the recoil hole 2 piece ignition, front top cover hole behind the the recoil hole 1 piece ignition? If so, who has a nice 2 piece ignition they want to swap for a nice 1 piece ignition?

Yes, for all intents and purposes the only difference in the cases is the colour, bolthole changes match the ignition changes as well on the red ones.

Measured the pto side of the crank where the clutch bearing and this shim rides, exactly 0.500” so the will work, even if you have to hit them with a sanding drum on the id a hare.

Somewhere in here I have posts showing different cases have meat to drill and tap and some don’t.
I got a really nice top cover set for my 720 that was for single coil case bolt pattern. As luck would have it there was enough meat to drill a tap for the correct hole.

Had one on a 266 for a while with no problem. Doesn't look like there's any problem/interference in the pic either, so should be good to go.

The one issue I know of is that the metal flags don't work with a deco. Won't allow it to pop out.

I don't know if they are necessary, but there is a metal flag specific for full wraps .
I threw one on from a 83’ 266SE and it didn’t interfere with the wrap at all. I had it barred up and was going to cut with it until I found an air leak. I bought it figuring it would need bearings and seals minimum.

Looks much better with a nice cover on it… While I was at it, I replaced the spur sprocket drum with a NOS rim drum , plastic deflector, new bearing and 8 pin. 3FD4E42D-C70A-4C3E-B085-1F95B6E4CAE9.jpeg52B1B3A3-EE3B-4178-96C0-19979A6848C9.jpeg127631B3-394E-4B3C-87B0-97ABAF3313F5.jpeg9A137F02-A787-482E-B08D-92883E4C6564.jpeg
