How about something like this to cut the base? For us guys who don't have a lathe. Only cut one at a time.

Try not to spit out your coffee when you see my drawing......

You would have to have some kinda step on it to work on a Cylinder with a skirt on the bottom.

That's similar to my concept, you're on the right track though. Nice drawing too, you even included an isometric view. You're a natural artist. Just as good or better than what I would've sketched up

Yes I can
I'd be interested Brett. What about one for base cutting? Use the same one, or make a variable sleeved one for that as well?

I have a few saws to do, and likeLy more in the future, that aren't the size of what I've got here.

That's @wcorey work. Brett, can you make some of these?

Yup should work... just make the cutter longer/deeper and leave a space if there's a flange on the cyl.
Set depth with mandrel against squish band as a stop, also keeps it square that way.
Personally I prefer a split clamped flange rather than a setscrew, no marring and easier to adjust.
Really not much more time to make.
Make the id to your largest mandrel and use split rings to adapt down to the smaller sizes.

This was an adapter that goes on the adjustable squish band cutter, did it just to see how it worked.
It does, Lathe works better though...

Yes, you can see the vice jaw marks where it was held over where the cutter is.
Could do it under power but would need to be very slow rpm and then you'd need to affix the cylinder, which can be a pain...
