Lots of practice. Next time we get a chance to do this again I will clean a couple and show you how we have always done it. A sharp, thin, flexible knife makes a big difference. After a few thousand it will get easier. ;)

Temp is 350 to 360, put some cornmeal in a gallon bag and shake it, couldn't really call it a batter. Sometimes the simple things are best, you get more of the mild taste of the crappie this way. I just rinse it off some and let most of the water drain off, take it right from the bag after shaking the excess cornmeal off and straight into the fryer. Spoonbill we will use a tempura batter for with a few extras like onion powder and the like for some flavor.
I really like the “less is more” batter idea on fish...

But I like the fish more than the batter..

We even tried the uncle psiah mustard batter on bluegill at one point..it was good, but not perfect...

Nice looking lumber there.👍
Hoping someone wants it more than me..
The log was 12’6” long and about 22” at the small end.
I put a brand new band on and milled it all at once. Got a few nice quarter sawn 8’s and 10’s.

Seemed like butter compared to the hedge last week.

A guy in Mansfield offered me $3.50 per bf for nice walnut the other day.
Right now he's looking for a piece 8" x 12" x 8' for a mantle.
Pm me if you'd like his phone number.

Good morning everybody.

good morning folks. Nice 24+hr rain is about done, and with temps warming a bit a lot of vegetation had sprung back to life.
I’ve already had to mow the grass 3 times this year.
Bout a month ago, we got a week long warm spell. That’s all it took to get the fescue rocking.

Last application of nitrogen and aphid spray has been applied to the wheat. It’s about 10” tall right now.

Not sure...it was originally midnight blue. Someone painted the outside white, but not the doorjambs or underhood...

At first I thought it was a muskrat but after seeing it a couple more times, its an otter.

There are several of them around here, most people shoot them or trap because of the damage to fish populations.
The neighbors pond is around 8-10 acres, I highly doubt he knows they are in there & I am not telling him.

I am looking forward to watching them
thats the best eating ive ever had, even the wife says so.
