Sawed a real nice chunk of sycamore this morning.

I only see the WIDE option for the LT40 anymore and no WIDE option for the LT35. So I guess it comes down to how many 26" or wider cuts you plan to make.

BTW my old '98 LT30 does 28" wide cuts and can whittle down a 36" log.

That's why I need the hydraulics..

I'll whittle if I need to.

What has been your experience with drying sycamore? does it move around a lot, or is it fairly stable?

Keep it out of the sun and stickered properly and it will dry nicely and fast like pine.
The stuff I milled up last year has behaved itself better than Oak.

I always keep hardwoods out of the sun.
I like the idea of it drying fast, maybe I'll actually get to use some of it sooner than later.

I got 2x6’s that I milled a year ago about to be used on the new steer feed lot.

But I’m going to coat them all..

Sycamore does not weather all that well if untreated out side.

Some beetle kill Ponderosa Pine that I chainsaw milled.

I thought it needed planed but Mama said no, she would just sand & urethane it.

Turns out the wall is 1/4” out of plumb, it’s uneven across that old plaster & not square with the other wall; no need to have “true” boards with chitty walls…

The best drying shed I have found for my boards I csm is a grain bin. Nice air flow thru the drying floor & no sun. Pretty seasonal unless you can find an unused older one.

I think this was shown a couple days ago with a stated value of $8-9k! That is the companies buy back. Didn’t think about that til spot silver price was checked few minutes ago. Melt value for the silver close to $11,187 depending on the fluctuations in the metals market. Makes attitude improve a bit over my last

This is why VA rates me 100% disability. Had that box delivered to last address, prior to September 2011, and wasn't aware of it sitting around here til Monday when it got opened to see "what's this weight?" Recollection/organization skills slight IMHO
