Good morning folks. Got teased with some lite dribbles last evening, about enuf for the freshly washed car to have those dirt/pollen spots, but that's ok. 60 going to 77 today.
Have a good day with whatever your project(s) may be!

Makin' sawdust outta puny pine logs this morning....IMG_20230712_084224.jpgIMG_20230712_084232.jpg

3 hours later....IMG_20230712_115402.jpg

Sawed up 44 logs this go around.... edging it all tomorrow morning probably... though I'm considering stickering it like that and edging it after it dries a bit, might turn out better....or worser??? Idk...

Now I think I'll go haul the last load of pine home.

What happens with the pile on the left? I guess I'm wondering if fellas use it for something in particular, or if it's firewood. I'd think there's probably someone who has come up with a good use for them.

We run the nice clean ones through the chipper then use the chips for cow bedding in the barn.
The pine decomposes pretty quick when mixed with gobs of cow pies / pee.
The ugly stuff we just pile in up and torch it periodically.

I've made a lot of firewood outta slab wood in years gone by, but there's just too much wood around here to fool with the mill scraps....not to mention, winter is pretty wimpy down here so there's not a big firewood market..... unless a guy wants to haul it to Springfield of some such awful big city....

If I didn't live at the end of a dirt road in the boonies, I could probably sell the scrap for a few bucks.... but it's not happening here.

Swing by anytime, and I'll fix you up with a big ol' load of mill scraps...free!
Lol.

Some interesting clouds on the way home this evening...IMG_20230712_203104.jpg

That's looking north east towards Mansfield/Norwood, but I thought the possible rain was coming from the west this time.... maybe it already missed us.
