I saw the little black line in there...
It sure looks like persimmon..

That said, there are 2 types of Gum.

The one you’re used to, and a Black, or “sweet Gum..
sweet gum looks just like persimmon as far as bark and wood.
I have a few, I’ll get you a pic soon.

That bark does look like black gum bark from pictures i found on the internet. This wood was slimy on the ends if that helps, and the chips had a yellow tint to them.

The tree service told me it was persimmon; but that don't mean nothing, they told me they had 2 persimmons and one of them was pecan, lol. I've never cut persimmon or black gum.

Not as bad as the red gun grease they put in a guys filled Bismarcks in a shop where I worked once! And JD penetrating oil in my open bottle of Coke. Not even April 1st, they were some rotten *******

I have to admit that once, when I was a mechanic, I put the Buisness end of an air powered grease gun down the crack of his pants ( while he was wearing them) and let loose. That was a real lube job there .

At the shop I worked at when I was 17, they'd spray lacquer thinner under the bathroom door and light it on fire while someone was taking too long to do their business.
