Fire Extinguisher Recall: Check your shops guys!

This is probably supposed to be in the “off topic” section but wanted it to get more traffic/views.

40 million Kidde units recalled!

I’m sure some of us remember Stumpy’s shop fire and most of us have shops, garages, homes, and vehicles with an extinguisher as fire protection... Considering most of us burn wood, weld, etc... most of us should have 2-3 to be checking. I found 3 recalled units in my house and shop.

If you don’t have any to check this is your wake up call to go get a few! Local fire departments and safety stores can recharge units for $20-$35 for standard 5lb units. I got 2x used units (seen in rear of photo) for $40ea. Cheap if it prevents the loss of even one good saw!

Thanks for the link also blackdog. 2 in the house have horizontal pull pins so there good I have 2 more in the shed and barn that I have to check.

Thanks for the warning and link to their website. I have 25 and only one has the plastic handle, its been in one of my boats since 87 so is due for a replacement any way.
