Dominant saw V4 371 build

Welp, yep, I did it, bought into the hype over at dom saw. Gots me a new V4 piston. Installed it in a 2004 model 365 with a 371xp jug. Tryed it without base gasket and no go. With base gasket I'm at 16.5 thousands which seems a little on the tight side. Guess I will give it a try.

The exhaust side has an interesting angle cut, to change ex timing i guess

I know, I know, I should have bought one of daves Wiseco pistons, next time I will try one of those.

Yea, I use dual small dawgs normally, but I might upgrade to 4pt pro safetys

I wonder if the squish band is different on the 372epa jugs? The jug I have is the one with like half a fin missing on top exhaust side and doesnt use the rubber grommet to locate into the cylinder cover .

That 371xp cylinder I used is tight. Its an "A" bore clearance stamping. The ring end gap for that bore was supposed to be .008" and i was at .007 so I filed a smidgen off the ring.
Wasnt able to weigh piston but it feels just as light as the oem 365 slug that came out of this saw. I might be able to get a video of it running, i think that would be my first vid....Ever!

Compression when starting feels low, possibly 130psi to 135ish. Will see how it goes when broke in. No porting work done on cylinder. Just custom muffler and the piston, otherwise stock.

I would expect more due to the pop up, even with the single ring and exhaust cut.

Its just a guess. When i get a chance, i will do a vid cutting, and run a comp test along with checking rpms with a tach

This 365 came with a stupid blue module, so true potential wont be expressed till I swap out to a black module. More money.......more money arggggggg
