Hi folks
I need a dead 7900/10 cylinder to trim down for a hybrid experiment. Can be AM, big bore, scored, busted fins, whatever. Functional and cheap would work as well. Unfortunately, it has to be 52 or 54mm.

Let me know if you have something. Plenty of trade goodies, though not much Dolmar.

Thanks!

Sorry I got some 6400 stuff but no extra 52 or 54mm. Could you use 47mm for mock up or not?

Nah. The bore has to fit the case and the piston. But thank you for looking!

Ohhh…359xp. 54mm quad port would be an interesting saw.

Stroke will make that setup a challenge! Hope it works for you. I will check what I’ve got

Shouldn't be to bad to deal with. The 7900 has a 37mm stroke. The 395 had a 38mm stroke. The solo 681 had a 38mm stroke and guys use the 7900 jugs on the 681 and some oit the 681 crank in the 7900.

@Ketchup how close is the cylinder mount pattern between the 7900 and 395?
Uuuhhhh he said 359...

@Ketchup what about a 385 or 390 cylinder they are quad port I think and 54 and 55mm bore and also had 37mm stroke same as 7900

I want that to work, but the transfers are just too darn wide. 372, 385, 390 have fantastic transfers, but they don’t fit on hardly any case.

@Dolkitafreak is correct that the stroke difference between 359 (34mm) and 7900 (37mm) is likely to be a problem. The good news is the 359 deck height is roughly 2.5mm lower. It’s an annoying complication for the 369/272 hybrid. Add that to the 272 being side fed duals and I’m trying to find a new angle. Also interested in down-stroking and more over-square engine behavior.
