So I've got an old house to demo. Is the carbide chain ok to cut nails?

NO!
At least not the "normal" Carbide tipped chain like Stihl Rapid Duro 3, or similar ones that are intended for wood cutting purposes.
The inserts will chip off and You will end up with an expensive chain that can not be re-sharpened.
Carbide inserts do not like foreign objects!

Get a couple cheap steel chains and just have at it.
The Hipa store had like 2 loops for 10$, or something like that.

Thank you! I have 2 safety chains that I don't mind thrashing.

Carbide requires high speed to cut nail imbedded wood. Firefighter roof saws for cutting holes in roofs for ventilation, are typically 70-90cc saws running a 12” bar and 404 pitch and 8 pin drive. That combo makes for a big chain with a big hunk of carbide spinning really fast on a saw that won’t bog down.

And still they will get carbides chipped or knocked completely off. The last rescue chain I specked out for our department was over $200. So like Wilhelm said, get some cheap chains in semi chisel.

I did watch a guy demo a house with a gas powered circular saw. You can get demo blades for them and they are way mor durable to that kind of work. The chainsaw is just more nimble on a roof.
