I'm looking for an Echo 1001 dog, as I'd like mine to have dual dogs since it has a full wrap.

You know there heavy and slow and heavy right?
They Pull In The Cut if They Are Tuned and Chained Properly :D
Bob Mcculloch was very ahead of his time in Fact the bigger saws in the Husky Line used Bob's Port Timing magic because of Electrolux acquisitions leaving Husqvarna to gobble up their Competition and glean their technology to improve the Husqvarna line of saws. (they have done a good job i think personally) so getting a bigger Bore Mac jsut makes sense to me because i want to see how well we can make it run and give the saw a new life- I like Yellow saws. i hope to become a loyal fan worthy of running that fine name of saws!
blessings and Aloha td

Aim for a 250 super its 87cc. The 250 was probably fantastic for it's time but at 6000 rpms it leaves some to be desired.

250 could end up being *WALKERIZED* and run a bit faster as well as mounting a .025 sprocket bar chain setup for a lower load on the saw:aaaaa: BBRS has some real nice Macs that have been ported and massaged- i hear the 805 was decent later variant but alas it is only 82ccs i could live with that i think if the rpms are right after a Mod Job ....we desire the Pro Mac 1000 variant and or a 840 940 895 etc etc etc-very nice! and there are a few others in the lineup i have my eyes upon!
with a few 250s i should be able to cobble a running saw together - thanks for the replys BBT aloha

That super 250 should go well above 6000 rpm. Under a heavy load with a long bar the reeds will fully open, if properly setup, and it will be as though the saw received a shot of nitrous. It should start to scream and really pull hard at a much higher rpm than the other 87, 95, and 99cc saws do. The super 250 is a factory ported hotrod, though with a silly 20" bar, most will never experience what THAT saw really is.

I have a friend that is wanting to sell off his homelite collection. There is probably at least 80-90 saws available most of which are complete. From what I know is he has a 1130g, 750, 550, couple 80s? And some Wiz? Saws. He wants to sell them all. Make an offer, he is hoping to get around $4,500. He lives around Omaha Nebraska. Attached are a few photos if you are serious I’ll be there again in a week or so and can get more specific photos of what saws you want to see. Pm me for more details.
