Not Oregon IMHO

My experience with them has been that at best they are made out of cheese.

The Forester bars I've run have outlasted the Oregon bars that I've run by a long ways.

If you are looking for a bar that can take abuse I'd look into a Total. They are about the same price or slightly more than a Oregon.

IMHO, sometimes you've got to spend a little money to save a lot of money (and aggravation). Get ahold of forum member fordf150. He can set you up with good deal on a Total bar and some great chain. Order the rest of your bits from HL Supply. Assemble. Go forth and cut a sh*t-ton of wood. Be happy.

@fordf150 can hook you up with a Total bar.

ProAm and ProLite are laminated models for Oregon, the Power Match bars are solid, with a replaceable tip.

Gone are the days of the old Oregon, Windsor, Sandvik, General, GB, etc...

I have had good luck with Oregon, Windsor and Sandvik bars, but most are brand new from 20+years ago.

A green labeled Forester is the only bar I have ever had that behaved like it was made out of modelling clay.

As a firewood hack myself, I have to say that the Oregon Power Match bar has held up for me very well with an occasional dressing. The laminated Oregon bars are another story, I was killing those real quick, big difference in the bar rail hardness.

I would trust the part number not the picture, but I would tag the Canadian to fix the problem.

I still like GB for medium duty use. They can be had cheap on LCS and come with oregon LGX chain for a really good price.

18" 325 050 with LGX chain for $27.25

20" Protop 325 050 for $22 - No chain but call and I'm sure Greg will hook you up. Same Greg that used to be at Baileys.

Laminate bars suck from all brands IME. I have gotten very good service from Oregon Power Match bars. Start with .o50 gauge and as they wear move up to .058. About the only thing that kills them is the tips hitting snow in the winter. This is very hard on chain too.

I Have Deduced That They Are Made From Limburger cheese! The green labeled Forester bar that I got from some smart guy has been a good bar.

@black dog great deals but I did not see a 20 inch in 3/8. I am in this mess because he ran 3/8 chain on .325 bar and spur gear. destroyed inner bar plate to. Worst thing is he runs tree service. maybe if I change it to 3/8 he put right chain on it. :rolleye:
