I’m one of those people that cleans my tractor once every few months and spray wax’s it.

Needless to say when I got a pair of used 395xp’s that I was going to strip them and polish them up.

First was an eBay find and the other is a @Mastermind that I bought off of @czar800 in like new condition for an incredible price.

As much as I’d like to take credit for helping you. I believe you’re thinking of some other person.

Just completed the saws this morning. Sick(fever) at home and needed something to do, can’t get them to the property today to test out.

A lot more little things went into the saws then listed pictures show it mostly.

Sugi 36” bar and a hard nose 20” on the eBay saw.
You can also see, the exhaust mod somewhat on the eBay saw.

Very happy how these turned out. Started as a winter project then winter never happened for us down here. The folks at HL and PartsTree were a great help.

Thanks to @czar800 for passing along such a great saw. You know it’s good when it scares the wife.

Great catch Mike. Not sure how I confused the screen names. The 009 has become my dedicated saw riding on the tractor 24/7.

I bought the saw off of Mason @huskyboy
My bad Mason, I don’t remember everyone’s screen names yet.

Great convos with @huskyboy also; small world of being somewhat in the same industries.

No problem, nice work with the saw man.

Nice work, both saws look great! And have no fear, you’re not the only one that washes his tractor.;)

Some more photos:

New tanks, so I removed the 537338101 white/green vent and line that comes with them and replaced it with the black vent 501873101

That 537338101 white/green multi-piece thing seems very complex; too many failure points.

I then took a gas filter and cut it to size to place in the outer large hole of the gas vent. Not sure if needed, or maybe even not recommended. I just didn’t like how the vent was recessed and allowed wood to get in and clog it up.

Here you can see the cut up fuel filter pressed fit. Just used my pocket knife. Couldn’t find anything of the same diameter to use as a punch.
