So my question is for those who have ran both or seen both run how does a 372 x torque compare with a 372xpw both ported? I have a x torque now and its ported and I like it it has a nice torquey feel and holds good rpm decent throttle response and stuff but maybe dare I say a little bland not quite the typical racy aggressive husky feel to it. Would a 75cc xpw properly ported be much different or too similar to what i already have to warrant spending the money for another saw?

im looking for faster reving and more hp/rpm. a more aggressive feel. would I notice that from what I got going to a xpw top end?

In my opinion I'd compare it to the difference between the ms440 and 460.
On the xpw most leave too much of the hump on each lower transfer and the full gain isn't achieved.

If that's what you want go to a 365 special or 50mm top end. Here's a 65cc saw in the same log with a good chain. It just turned out way faster than I expected for 65cc.

Looks like you took the numbers off the side of those rakers. I've had cookies blow up instead of shooting across the yard doing that.

I'm not talking about depth, I'm talking about the outside where it is stamped "25" on Oregon chains.
I don't think the sides were touched. I know it was a nice file job for someone else. It killed 2 birds with one stone by testing Keith's saw and someone's chain.

Well I guess I better pull my featherless rooster out and try to defend the xpw. Lol
Here's one that I had some fun with and it has a lot left in it because I didn't change any port timing other than eliminating the base gasket. Key thing seems to be an inadequate carburetor.
This is running a 28" bar.
EDIT: I also forgot to mention that it is unintentionally free-ported. Whether this is a disadvantage or not will be determined when I do my next xpw cylinder to change out with this one.

Is a 365 special different than just a 365? If so what are the differences. What made this saw so much faster than your 372?

Some of the 365 have bolt on intakes and open port. I really don't know. It was just a normal Woods port. I think the case capacity to bore size has something to do with it.

XPW isn't the top end you want for that 'Wild Fast Husky' feel.

365 special (50mm) or 372 (52mm) is what ya want. Was wrong; 48mm or 50mm is what ya want.
