I love my 372, but if I were buying today and planning on using/burying more than a 24" bar routinely, I'd opt for the 576. They are very smooth, but balance better with a 28"+ bar (especially in 0.063) and have noticeably more torque. Of course there's still a ported 390xp in my future (and I know it's not an option for you) which would also dissuade me from owning one. I know that the 372 has been a fallers saw for a long time, but cutting mostly Hedge, sometimes large, my ported 372 is nasty in 24" wood, but after that I like the bigger boys.

I’ve run a 576 and I must say it is a smooth running Saw. That being said, for all out longevity I’d go for for the 372. But as my sig indicates I may be a bit bias toward the 372:).

Gotta go with little brother on this one. I've run a 576 carb and own a 75cc 372. I know that on paper the 576 is the stronger saw, but it just doesn't FEEL like it is, as much as the ergonomics and handling feels right on the 372 for me, it just feels a little off for me with the 576. I like working on a 372 better too.
