Hello band. At my county job. I'm up for a new saw at the county. My two saw choices are a 576 or a 372. I only have experience in the 372 realm of the two. I know they are bullett proof. It will have a 32inch bar. I tried for a 390 but these were my only two options they will offer me. Thanks all. Norm....

576 is autotune. I think you posted about post fire cutting. Not sure if that is a consideration in the purchase. As some have not recommended autotune for those operations.

between those two 372 all the way
I second that. Don’t feel the 572xp is worth the extra weight for what you get, and the 372xp seems to have a broader power-band.

572xp is smooth for sure, but it’s not like you need anymore vibration dampening than the 372xp has to offer IMO

No one mentioned a 572. His choices are 372 or 576 and I've read the 576 was smoother than the 575 which is already smooth, smoother than the 372 IMO.

Since the 372 is going to be an XTorque I'd choose the 576. Reason being I liked the torque of the 570/575.

I forgot a 572 is out eh? I kind of thought more would sway toward the 372, what I figured. I've run my personal 372 saws for years. Definitely dependable. 372 it is. Thank you all

I have had and ran both stock and mastermind ported 372 x torque and a 372 non x torque mastermind ported. Liked them all the 372 x torque before porting ran good but I liked the handling of my 562 better and before porting power wise the 372 x torque had more torque but didn't seem any faster cutting than the 562 this was with 20 inch bars mostly in hardwoods neither saw ported. after porting the 372 x torque really woke up and I would recommend getting it ported if you get it plus you can switch to the old 372 parts and make it an oe ported. Between those two both ported the 372 x torque had a little more grunt to it but I liked the throttle response and cutting speed of the non x torque 372 best and I heard the lighter oe 372 piston helps durability of the saw. I ran 20-24 in bars nothing longer for the longer bars you mentioned the extra torque of the x torque may help

I've had a 575 and 576 here. I have a 372 here. Buying new today...I'd find a 576xp AT.

They are slightly heavier but they are good machines. The tail weight may help offset that 32 better too. My Mastermind 372 will pull a 32 but that's a lot on that bottom end and a nose heavy setup.

That was a typo. I meant 576xp. My mind hasn’t been on saws in months. That’s what college does to ya I guess

I’ll stand by the 372xp, but they’re both good saws. Really couldn’t go wrong with either I think.

I have multiples of both. Stock and ported. Running a 28-32" the 576xp.

25". 372 all the way. There is just something about the 576 making more torque with longer bars, probably because of the 74cc engine. MM has a video of a before and after ported 576 on the tube. Quite a difference.
It takes a ported 372xt to run with a stock 576 in hardwoods here in the east up to 28". Just my experiences. Handling goes to the 372xt however.

for the length of bar really a 90cc class saw would be a much better option but I know that's not one of your choices
