I promised to do a thead on this so here it goes, I am hoping to paint the cases tonight and reassemble tomorrow evening. Some before pics and a pic of all the new parts to be added. This is only cosmetic, @rattler did an amazing job on the performance part already with his port work.

This is not done yet but looks pretty good so far, hope to have this saw ready for next Saturday GTG in PA. Found a few issues along the way, need to stop at the shop tomorrow and get a few screws and wires maybe also, need help with he starter cover swapping the coil spring and stuff also.

Great looking resto Dustin! Are you using the dealer husky orange that I used on my 288? It looks perfect.

Which type of paint Dustin?

I use a ford factory color in PPG aura urethane that matches Stihl gray perfectly.

Look at pic #4 in the 1st post.

I didn't think he'd use rattle can paint. I did catch that, but I thought that was possibly just for the plastic parts.

The PPG I use hardens like a rock. Baked, I'd say it's close to powder coat.

I know it's in a can, but is not just regular old paint, is the stuff Husqvarna uses. Seems good to me, with about six saws painted, they seem to be holding up quite well actually. Not saying it is as good as what you are doing, but can say it is a lot better than hardware store paint cans.
