Anyone know how this would do on 3/8 sprocket and 16” bar?
+1Ive switched several of my ported saws in this size range over to 3/8 18” bars and they handle it just fine.
I run a 18'' 3/8 fc-fc on my scarr 550xpg mkll and it handles it just fine .Ive switched several of my ported saws in this size range over to 3/8 18” bars and they handle it just fine.

Flatout awesome! I love a 50cc saw running 3/8 chain and 16" bar.Anyone know how this would do on 3/8 sprocket and 16” bar?
I set my cousin's stock mkII's up with 3/8 - 20 inch and they love em.
+1I would think it should be fine with even a 20” 3/8 bar on it
Even a stock 346 can pull a 20" 3/8 chain with no drag and minimal wear on the motor. 18-20 is the sweet spot for these saws.
I tried a 16" .325 on a 353 and thought the darn saw was going to pull out of my hands.
Well, I have a 16 inch bar in three eights and I have five chains that never get used in three eights but I totally forgot the bar is for a large mount. SMH+1
I used to have a 50cc Poulan Pro years ago that came with a 3/8" x 20" and cut quite well as I remember.
So surely a more powerful saw head will be just fine with it.
In my observations the 3/8" cut the larger stuff a bit better than the .325", which in turn shines better on the small stuff limbing and topping and such.
Which is why I keep .325nk on my 550xpg as I have plenty others with 3/8" on to go to, that or just wait a second or two longer for the .325" to do its thing.
So either could be the right choice depending on just what you're cutting.
As for playing my lil' XS 340/6 is running a 3/8" x 16" play chain and pulls it fine.
