Ima show y'all a trick.

Gotta have a degree wheel on the engine to figure stuff out to begin with......but once these heights are established it's on. :D

My spec sheet on the MS460.

These are older specs........but this sheet was already in PDF, and is for an 1128 series.

So.......

Use this video to learn how to set height using the wheel and a piece of card stock.

Now.......

So you have a piece of stock for the intake height. It's about 18mm wide. You used a ring in the bore......measured the height and cut it. Right?

Now......you put it in the bore.

Then drop a piston in. I'm using a crappy no-name aftermarket piston because I'm doing this in a bore that has rough edges. If you just have a good piston, de-bur the rough port edges, and clean the jug of chips etc.

The bottom of that piston is at 80° on this build (not at 82° as the specs say).

So.......I mark it with a nice sharp pencil.

The cool part is keeping good notes......even better than the spec sheet I posted. Like this one for the MS362.

Notice that the port heights have a exact measurement with them for the Ex, and In?

That way I can just cut my card stock without ever installing a degree wheel.

I'm redoing all my spec sheets to have these extra notes.
