I know a lot of people hate the huztl saws, but for me it's the only way I could ever own some of those models. As a hobby I cant justify owning several professional model saws just for fun.

I was told in emails that they will be coming out with 268/272xp kits and 288xp kits. I'm waiting on a 288xp myself.

I had a 200t clone that I built from the kit. Didn't replace any of the parts in the kit. Ran really good. Even used the holzfforma bar and chain. I should have kept it, but I traded it for a 30" Granberg Alaskan mill.
Compression coming up. Ran 3 tanks through the saw this morning. 28" bar with 8 tooth 3/8 sprocket is like a laser beam going through wood. Ran a 24" bar with. 404 and seven tooth sprocket also. Here's a video of it with the .404 7 tooth. This bar and chain are straight out the box. The .404...
He's only 2, and miles ahead of me at that age. He's got 50cc 2 stroke 4wheeler and a stihl 011av that he calls his. He's always filing on the chain or trying to take it apart. Anything with an engine or that makes noise has his full attention. He's so smart. I'm trying to keep him in the...
I think that the original thought was applied to full circle cranks. I dont see how you could make it work with your normal chainsaw crank.

I got a little fellow here that's gonna be tough to beat one day. I'm starting him young. He may be the next Mastermind or Treemonkey.

Wow. I wasnt putting in a plug for jms and never stated that I supported him in any way. I have read all the threads, and know all info that people were willing to share. That being said, saws are a hobby for me. I've never ported saws for money. The main reason is that I just dont have time...
I know it's a sore subject for a lot of people, but I think it's worth mentioning for the sake of transfer porting theory. Jms seems to favor heavy transfer mods along with higher crankcase compression. I've seen several times where he ground through to the outside of transfer tunnels and had to...
My thought on the offset transfers from side to side is that they are still aimed at the intake wall, but one side will just open sooner than the other. Just maybe it would help create a swirl effect to help keep fresh mix from escaping through the exhaust port. The exhaust gases are going to...
Has anyone every played with opening one sides transfers a little ahead of the other? I know ya'll have been discussing front or rear first, but what about side to side?
I'll definitely make a video if the weather allows this weekend. It should still perform better than stock. I ordered a caber ring for it today. And, I finally jumped on the band wagon and ordered one of those mmws cross performance cylinder kits for later down the road. This saw may become my...
Its farmertec jug and slug. I may just order a cross cylinder set and give it the same treatment. I'm gonna cut with it some this weekend and see if the compression comes up any.

I just finished up a ms660 build where I used an aftermarket 54mm cylinder and a 288xp piston. I cut the squish and base to bring the exhaust down to 98° and ended up at .022" squish. I cut enough from the chamber to where I had to ad a shim to the plug to index it so that it didnt hang below...
I knew you weren't serious. I use one of the 660s a lot. They are also great for experimenting with new porting theories that are constantly running through my head. Piston and cylinders are dirt cheap.

I like them. Helps make my hobby more affordable. They'll have the 268xp kit soon and a 288xp to follow. They're planning on a ms460 and 880 too in the future.
