Thanks everyone, this is why I became a member. To buy a great saw from a respected person and put it to work. I don't think it's going to be underpowered haha, a video really helped and it was comical what it did to that log. It clearly will be able to handle the 22-24" ripping I'll be doing...
Hmmm, I might be able to swing it. The suggestions are helping, I've had several. There's a clean ms661c with a new 25" b&c for $750 as well. I was trying to be in the $550 range. I have to make a decision....
I appreciate the suggestions! If the wifeypooh would allow me to throw $800 at a saw I would jump on those you listed. The 372xp is more "arrordable" I understand displacement 8s key for milling, but I would not do a ton of milling and feel the 372xp would work well if it was fat with sharp...
I'm tempted because it's in my price range and looking for a milling saw. Only concern is parts availability and someone in the area willing to work on it if I can't.
Just bought 20 acres of thick mature forest in Indiana. Got myself a 36" Granberg and want to do some slab and siding milling. Looking at the 372xp as a versatile saw for a big guy. I plan on doing some light milling and treating the saw how it wants to be treated. Anyone know of a good used saw...
