getting back to the OP, If you get a ms 400 you will be very happy with it , you dont need to port it just run the $hit out of it. the guys that do port work will say other wise. You will pay more for it, but it will be worth more if you decide to get ride of it. I dont know where you are but...

I may be wrong, but I feel messing with the timming on a M Tronic saw will do you no good, A broken key way in a flywheel is not a big deal , just get the flywheel good and clean along with the crank and tighten it down, It will not move . mark it to make sure it doesnt move when you tighten it...

That Kubota ZD series mower is the best out there but they are not cheap but will last a long time and still bring good $ and ride like a Caddy
