Well.
to each their own.
Glad you have had better luck.
Myself, on my personal equipment I used to think the same... but after 10-15 carb kits and 3 or 4 kits each several individual pieces of equipment in 2 years... I put 1+1 together and others warnings together and don't write it off as a...
I'm very happy with the raw power of the 3120.
I come from Homelite 650's and 750's to this.
And a little history.
the 650 & 750 were built in Gastonia NC about 30 miles from here.
been out of production probably 30 year.
And the ones I have still look and run like new.
I know where 1 is that...
Randy.
that is again some "Top Shelf" work my good man.
Just can't bring myself to do it to my saw... yet.
But it would sure look good in my saw and give me all kind of boasting rights.
Then again... The way I run things it probably wouldn't help me.
I run rich and oily.
Oh well, another day.
Don't feel bad... you not the only one this happen to.
I don't mind admitting that I goof up occasionally and don't get some carbs the first time around.
And I been doing this over 30 yrs. But.. not every day.
There are so many little things like plugged gas inlets that have 90 degree...
I bought 2 cases($26 ea) 50:1 trufuel that I Dr up t0 32 whenever I open a can. I buy from my fuel oil supplier for furnace heat.
Not found anyone that comes close to his price. (but he has pallets of it)
I purge my saws with this when they're going to rest for a while.
Got tired of carb kits...
This should help this saw be a survivor and be a dinosaur in 30 or so years like my other, brought over on the Mayflower voyage equipment. The bearings and cylinder will run cooler and be better lubricated.
I'm going to add washers to the allens below too, but I only found a matched set for the...
Hello All.
Today I did some preventive wrenching on my New 3120. Less than a hour run time on it.
First for those that don't know me.
I'm Ole Skool.
I run 32:1 And good oil at that with NonEth. Fuel.
Knowing this giant was factory dialed 50:1 and my stubbornness would be effectively running lean...
Even Worse. LOL
Thats what I meant to say, Ole CRS kicking in good. (Cant Remember $h!t)
AND i meant 104 Drives, Not links.
Thanks for pulling me back to the true facts.
Hello all.
I know this is an old thread. And I didn't read all posts yet.
But thought I'd give my take on Archer chain.
Now I've not milled yet. And
The chain I used was 404. Not 325.
Now Oregon skip link came on my 3120 and it cut like a wagon with square wheels on a gravel road.
Made...
Thanks guys.
Bear with me I'm learning my way around site.
Don't want to hijack thread.
I have been upgrading saw fleet.
Just bought a NEW 3120 2 weeks ago.
