I'm sure it will be durable, but that d-shaped leading edge on the side plate is too much IMO. Unavoidable using a square profile too. . . Unless a guy wanted to try grinding his stone all funky I guess? Knowing how to use a 5/32 is just as effective, if not more on semi.

Square filed this summer, really fast, but grabby as heck. I really didn't think it was worth it personally.

It's a coastal term for Skookum blocks and sheaves. Been around for ever. . . 6" block will run bout $450 (hence quality). It's like saying, "Those are really good."

Those are hard to find, and pretty Skookum.

The FOP is the best way to set your stops IMHO.

I'd leave it, maybe do a fish plate over a couple parts of that seam? Hard to say without being there -- standing there looking at it. I'd back-step the heck out of those welds, if you intend to weld the whole thing up. There's going to be a lot of pulling forces there and you can twist stuff up...

Pfffttt. . . I weigh my chains all the time.

I did a dolly 117 with a file and sandpaper. . . Got within .004" between ears. Close enough to run just fine.

That only really matters for ring-end location, but pistons can be used "backwards".

With the damage centered in the port, looks like a mechanical failure. . . Meaning it caught a ring. Wish I could say that's never happened to me! TM is dah man -- this can happen to anyone modifying ports for more go-fast from the angry pixies.
