    Wet carburetor gaskets

I did it. Figured it couldn't make things any worse. Of course it didn't make things better either. Pulled the block, flattened both sides and the carb face, slammed it home and was able to repeat my carb cleaner diagnostic. At the very bottom of the carb I'm leaking air. That's enough for...

    Wet carburetor gaskets

So the intake block has ridges molded into the plastic, hard for me to check flat on that, you think I should flatten those?

    Wet carburetor gaskets

So I have been able to make some progress, although there is a gap left for me to jump. It's coming back to the gasket between the carb and the block. If I get it idling and spray carb cleaner near the bottom of the block, I can make the saw shut off. I have definitely done this test and had no...

    Wet carburetor gaskets

Definitely a weight difference between the filter I was handed and the filters I have in my toolkit, so your sentiment about no differences is not accurate in my opinion. I am looking for a problem that did not go away with the two filters I have tried, so I'm willing to go for a more reliable...

    Wet carburetor gaskets

Well, this will stall a moment. Went to my local shop and they had no Husqvarna fuel filters in stock. Tried to offer me an unweighted Stihl filter. So what are the requirements to be a dealer? I suppose if I had 3 new saws and a sign I could be a dealer? The idea of advertising repairs with no...

    Wet carburetor gaskets

I ran a vacuum test on my tank, it holds no vacuum at all so I was able to rule that out. Also I have run the saw with the fuel cap cracked, no change

Of course I have an oem filter haha hahahaha. On an unrelated note I'll be headed into town tomorrow, you need anything?............ I honestly don't know where this filter came from, but tomorrow it's headed for the bottom of the ocean. Thanks. I have been after this saw for 3 or 4 years...

    Wet carburetor gaskets

Well, as fun as it sounds, I have never tried to alter a saw from stock in any way. Clearly I have my hands full just making a saw run correctly .... I am leaving the manifold bolted to the cylinder and blocking at the back of the carburetor. It's a bit maddening to me that I cannot test the...

So with the cover off I would see that in action? Or is it just a replace And see situation

Got in there and put an oem length line in, couldn't make the filter fall to the right side when tipped. Shortened the line, still not 100 percent on the bench, but hoping when it's running it plays nice. I'll fuel it up and start it later, I hope this is it. I'll be in Phoenix twice this year...

Yes, carb to intake gasket. Im not familiar with the term, do you mean regarding fuel line/filter? I have swapped that out once, but it does seem like a likely answer, just can't figure out how to make it any better than I have it now.

    Wet carburetor gaskets

I have had nothing but excellent luck with my 288 builds, no this is an 84 Jonsered 630. Did a fresh round of vac and pressure testing last night, it's SOLID, several minutes of hold on the carb, crankcases (rotated the crank as well), and fuel line. Put it together with a fresh carb gasket...

DeWalt Electric pressure washer trips breaker

Sounds right, you are using more amps to push the water farther, then when you let off there is a moment when the pressure wave returns to the pump. In the moment before when the pump triggers an over-pressure and shuts off, the machine is trying to push water against a wall. As I am sure you...

I tried, thanks for the tip. No luck, same symptoms. I think it might be time to dunk this saw, as much as I don't want to. Lookout bathtub, this might leave a film.....

    Wet carburetor gaskets

Thanks! So carb 1 is cleaned with an oem Tillitson rebuild. That's the one that came on it. For a control, I installed a 288xp carb (swapped linkages). Ran exactly the same on either carb. Any other fool would have sold this saw for parts by now. Runs fine upright, for as long as you want it...

    Wet carburetor gaskets

I have a saw giving me fits, i have been up and down the list of possible fixes. My latest clue is regarding my carb gasket. I pulled it off and it's completely soaked with fuel, not a dry spot on it. Now in theory I would think that it should come in contact with SOME fuel, but it surprised me...

    All Things 288XP

Yes (exaggerated heavily) in VT. I'm far from the furthest north, but it's frustrating to go to work at sunrise and get home after dark. I work the opposite shift of David, I cut in the summer, build saws in the winter.
