Production secret...

I'm planning to become a Non-Existing-Dolmar-Chainsaw-Decal-tycoon and thus can't disclose my production secrets
to the overwhelmingly enthusiastic public

In fact I'm still experimenting.
Ingredients include layout software, laser printers, silver coloured plastic adhesive foil, some very advanced
N-(3-(Trimethoxysilyl)propyl)ethylendiamin based glueing substance and a trowel.
Forgot a pair of scissors.

In first half 2019 I bought 14 or 15 chainsaws.
In second half 2019 I only bought 4 saws.
How comes? I don't know! Having enough chain saws is not an argument.

This year's start seems at least more promising: 2 saws bought within the first 4 days of the year:
- a PS-7900 (announced defective)
- a PS-4600 Speed

Both of them will hopefully arrive early next week.

If this frequency continues I'll be a beggar middle of the year.

Maybe I can post this in the proper place this time.

I have a parts saw 5105 with heated handles. It has the White coil on it.

If I want to install these heated handles on my 5105 with a black coil and Easy Start, do I have to bring over the White coil with the flywheel, or just the flywheel alone, and change the starter pawls?
Thx!

Check and see if the flywheels and magnets index at the same spot relative to the coil.

The flywheel is about a half magnet width different. So, it needs the White coil to be timed right. But....the stator mounts are drilled and tapped to the chassis and the non-heat chassis is not. So it looks like my project is stymied unless I want to build around the parts chassis that’s been scrapped for other reasons.

That’s an interesting Winter project idea worth considering.
Thx!

Here a few impressions from one of my new arrivals, the PS-4600S.

The saw runs fine, is in quite good condition although it has seen a fair amount of wood in the past.
Piston isn't exactly mint but pretty OK. Bar and RIM went straight to the scrap pile.

The saw has potential to become one of my favorites! Needs a thorough cleaning in the near future.

After I had her running, I removed the ignition coil and installed the module on my PS-5000H.
That one had gone on strike last summer. It suddenly had died within a cut and since the only runs without load.
As soon as one tries a cut the saw immediately goes dead. From the very first moment I suspected the ignition
module but could not confirm it. With the 4600S-module however the 5000 runs fine again. So next thing will be to order
a new ignition for the 5000. Pity the Speed modules are now longer available...

Anybody know where I can get an air filter cover and engine cowl NOS in the gray color for the 64/73/79 series. I had a set and tried to dye them, let’s say I didn’t achieve the desired results the first time. Thanks. Not on much lately so I may not respond quickly.

Shall I ask my German Dolmar dealer?
