Relax. He blew the horn like 3 or 4 times...
Also had it rigged to two hoists.
2 each 7.5 ton with 15 ton(30,000 lbs) total weight allowed. Machine weight was 23,000 lbs-and change.
No chance of it rotating, as hoists were at both ends, so no hand line needed.
I know that looked sketchy, but they have a written lift plan to do it, and need to do it fairly often.
Theres an old railroad spur at that end of the building. No tracks anymore, they just use it for storage. It drops down approximately 10' in elevation from the main plant floor level in all bays.
Thats the only way to get the lift in to work on anything. Too much shi't to move.
They slammed into the runway endstops one too many times and finally broke one off.
Had to put the crane back on the rails, and then repair the damage. Made a new set of more-gooder stops, and will be installing travel limits on the crane.
