Never ran a 530 but I do have a 520. It's my favorite saw. Bought it new in 2007 and it still runs great.

Yes they are. I've heard the same about the muffler mod but it's been such a great saw, I'm afraid to mess with it. I bought this before I even knew about saw mods. Still even has the limiter caps on the carb screws. Lol

The old girl wasn't running right so I shelved it with plans on fixing it later. Two of my buddies snuck it out and replaced the carb for me and now it's running great and ready to work again!

I framed my walls and added some high shelves. I have high ceilings so that helped me get a lot of stuff off the floors.
