I agree Tim. To me this is the crux of the problem with the current NFL. The way the rules are set up the zebras have far to much power to influence the flow of a game. The pass interference rule is a prime example. Wheather their ability to influence a games outcome is by design or not, is a rabbit hole I'm unwilling to poke my head in. It has, however, caused me to spend my limited free time on other pursuits.

It's strange that I feel this same way, yet I want nothing to do with the electric strike box in baseball. The cat and mouse between pitcher and batter, pitcher and umpire, ump and batter is a big part of what I love about it.

It all goes good until an official or player/s has a gambling problem. This can be used to great advantage by folks that make offers they can't refuse. It's hard to believe just how many indebted people are out there in professional sports of all kinds.
