Just now made it to Holton, Ks.
Lots of rain on 75 Hwy north of Yates Center. Was able to still run 65 though, most of the time.
Didn't start getting bad until just north of Topeka. Then 40 mph.
Slid into Holton with everything covered in ice. Thickly. Sitting at a stop sign within sight of her house and 2 branches fell 15 feet in front of us.
Fortunatly truck is in the garage now.
:)

We didn't end up getting anything out here. They were calling for snow all week, with chances from 60-90%. Heck this morning it showed 90% chance and radar showed us covered, but we didn't get anything. It's cold and windy, but that's it.

Got here about 3 ish.
Power went out 30 minutes later.
My Sister in law is very unprepared.
2 kerosene lamps (had to fix one)
I knew I should have brought a Coleman lantern.
And a stove.
And a heater.

After fueling in Maryville, the pavement was dry when I hit the state line. Then it started sleeting
This was an hour or so ago, all little ice pellets, fortunately no rain so nothing seems to be sticking to trees or power lines.

That is a beautiful view and I'm not being sarcastic! Some like forests and mountains, and those are nice, but man I love being able to see for miles.

I saw a lot

Headed to McAlester to visit mom in hospital next 3 days , looks like poor weather to do anything.

She's been diagnosed with dementia, they think the aggressive type.

Not sure what we are going to do yet .
She has a specific living will.

That sucks, hopefully you get power back soon. I went to town for groceries & gas before I headed home, then brought a weeks worth of stow chow up to the front deck & brought a couple days worth of in to the house. Hopefully the ladies won’t be dropping any calves tonight. They are all up in the barn lots now. I am on call to help Dad since my brother has influenza.

That’s looking straight west, it makes for some beautiful sunsets but some scorching summer sun also.

My house faces west as well, so I know what you mean. Garage doors are pointed west as well, so it makes working in the garage pretty brutal in the summer time.

Same here..
But the flood part ain’t there yet..

Just wind and wet.

Hopefully it settles down soon. The wheat don’t need any more water.
