I've been playing around with the idea of customizing the air filter cover - letting more air in. A friend who professionally races snowmobiles turned me on to these guys. Check this stuff out.

Using a 661 filter cover which I cannibalized for another idea.

the vacuum is a new dyson...it really SUCKS!

I am going to check and see if they'll make something besides a round circle to fit the typical chainsaw air filter cover. I honestly don't think a chainsaw pulls air in that hard where it would pull in water...if you were cutting in the rain that is.

I'll have to test them some more...actually cutting wood and see how they do with saw dust.

I have some square ones that are adjustable on my sled, just slide em open and closed. Don't recall the name though

Would you want to double them up by putting one on the inside and one on the outside. Also my dislexya kicked in when I first read the title and I left out the gz and switched the or. I thought this thread was going a whole other direction. Lol

What size is the patch in the testing videos?
1.50 OD x .75 ID I like the 1.75 1.0" ID better. A little larger.

I hope sawdust won't stick to them. I guess if they don't get fuel on them they shouldn't be sticky.

dumped some 32:1 mixed gas on the vent. Didn't seem sticky...as in it didn't seem like there was left over oil residue still on the vent. Real test will be actually cutting wood with them.

You didn't even try lighting it on fire? Test fail.

Wps used to sell the same material in rolls for cheaper than a small frog skin. Used to make my own out of the roll and some thin aluminum strap then epoxy the screen to the frame and rivet it on over a pre drilled hole.
