Did you have to buy the whole set up with the cover to get that plate?

Its 2 plates , it doesnt work with just the one the knob goes through..you need both , call madsens.

I'm only using one plate on my 044, 066, and 661 saws ................. why the 2 plates Ryan ?

On the HD2 theres too much room behind the plate from the filter knob is the best way i can describe it...if you only use 1 plate it spins around like a prop..try it..ull see what i mean..thats on a 461.

On the max flow it doesnt seem to matter.

20160328_112719.jpgThis needs to go on first if you wanna use the plates on the HD2

Otherwise the plate wont push the filter down without the first one on..i stuck a screwdriver behind it to kinda give you an idea what i mean..and thats with the nut threaded the whole way..with just that plate it spins like a fan.

I've got Max Flows on my 44's, 66's, and 661 ................. I understand you get this problem with HD2, but I would just use a washer

Why do you guys take the plastic covers off the air filters ? Seems like if a branch hit it or a log round hit it would crush the filter easier ?

I tried the outerwear under the stock cover with an HD2 and my filter was plugged in one tank of gas.

I tried the HD2 with the outerwear under the max flow cover..it was a little better but not much.

We did a big yard poplar and an ash removal last week and i tried the plates with the HD2 and the outer wear and it was the best thing ive tried yet as far as the stock filter goes.

I went 24 tanks without even blowing off that MaxFlow when I ran without a cover.
When using the cover, it gets packed with chips every tank

why the orange plate on the hd2 ? cant you just put the filter nut on to hold it down ?

Why not use the plates if you have them ?

I bet usin those plates seals that filter to the base better than just usin the nut.

No brainer to this Jigga-Boo.

FYI - 044s are grate.
