My dad got a new tractor... it’s almost as old as he is! I think it’s a ‘55 Massey Ferguson.

It was also the first time he’s used that truck for towing... He said the 6.0 has plenty of power once it gets up to speed, but it doesn’t have the low end grunt that a 7.3 or Cummins has.

I feel a 6.0 will out perform a 7.3 stock to stock. Lets not get into a durability talk though...

If you have ever pulled with a stock 6.7 ford you will never want any other powerstoke again. Just my experience.

Did some splitting with my Dad earlier today.
He bought that splitter back in 76 for $200.
Its been through 3 different tractors over its life and who knows how much wood.

Put another wedge and plate on the bottom to make that an over and under for big stuff.

Ive always been curious if those 3 point splitters are hard on the tractors hydralic system. Since they dont have a two stage pump like a dedicated spliter does.

We just drop the 3 point to the ground and roll the big stuff on.

It was on a 49 John Deere model 50, a Moline jet star 3 and now a New Holland.
The hydraulics get a bit warmer than normal but have never presented an issue for us so far on any of them.

It was just the low end power that was lacking. He said once it got rolling it had decent power. He’s had a couple of 7.3’s - an OBS and a Super Duty - but they’re long gone now. He just picked up this ‘04 6.0 and only paid $6000 for it. It has the EGR deleted and a PacBrake exhaust brake.

I have - Here’s my ‘16 F-350. :)

This was our 7.3

2002 7.3 6 speed 4x4. My FIL bought a case 580E and we were hauling it home an some idiot pulled out in front of us. I was riding shotgun. Was a hell of a ride till we seen we were going sideways. Both of us just waiting for it to start rolling. Luckily the hitch broke and the trailer went away from us. Was a hell of a mess on the side of the highway. My FIL thinks quicker than i and he was able to not hit the cab or that guy would have been smeared across the road. Only injury was the guy that cut us off. He had a cut on his head but walked away to an ambulance.

Did i mention it had 120k on it too! That truck was perfect. Had a good tune on it. I used it to haul the truck my grandpa original bought new from Cincinnati to STL. It was a great truck.

It's a shame it got totaled, but glad you guys are okay. I like Tony Wildman for tunes.

I was going to wait and see if anybody would catch that before i posted these. If you look close you can see where we clipped the cab right behind the passenger door.

We just had snow weekend, and on dry pavement some got no idea on the Ozark rolly coaster road. Within 2 miles west of my place earlier.

There where 43 cars off the road saturday morning on my way to work! Thats more than 2 a mile! People are clueless.
