Motor pics and a vid.

I can do pics but honestly I'm not impressed with how it runs, I'm gonna keep tweaking It until it runs better or explodes.

It's been ported with fingers, big intake, 3400 hdb carb, 3400 3 shoe clutch, 3 port muffler, timing advance. 210 psi with no base gasket, about .031 squish, and Poulan pro 2 thin ring piston.

Finally got me a Swedish Poulan. It's a 415 with a 505 top end, so I guess it's pretty much a 505. Runs really strong, it's a torquey bastard kinda reminds me of a 288xp I love it. 20170714_185134.jpg

Gonna miss that one. Glad you like it. It runs a close 2nd to my 288xp that was ported by treemonkey.

Oh also it has an 8-pin rim on it full size 3/8 16 inch bar it pulls hard but it doesn't turn a lot RPMs which I'm surprised because I raised the exhaust more than stock I'm going to try getting a 9 pin rim and see how it pulls it it is more than comfortable with the 8-pin that's on it I'm just curious

I have it tuned to run 12500 RPM it is still four stroking which if I remember correctly is 2000 RPM more than it was rated for but I'm still not overly impressed

Believe it or not it does not feel like it has 210 PSI of compression that's why I put a gauge on it because I was curious I could still machine down the bottom of the jug to .020 squish but I am worried if I do it would make crazy amounts of compression too much for the plastic recoil pawls

I am just glad that prototype number one runs and cuts, whenever I redo the head for this jug I will build it a little differently as well as machine cooling fins into the head so that I can run it longer, this saw is going to be ever evolving, it is probably gonna be my tester for building tuned pipes.

I thought it may run kind of on the hot side. How hot is it running compared to stock?

I'm not sure, it's a play toy only so I run it for like 6 to 8 cuts at a time and shut it down, let it cool, I'm sure it runs hotter because head design 1 is a big heat sink. And with how I had to modify the top cover to fit the head it pretty much sits right on the head, very little airspace.

Design number 2 will be a whole different ball game.

It doesn't have very good hot start manners, but runs and idles much better with the bigger carb and intake.

I had to modify the hdb to fit, it wasn't a direct replacement.

This project is worthy of it's own thread. Thanks for sharing. Cool project.
