I got a 394 coming that if someone wants to take home n figure out I'd gladly pay them. It's been at a different dealer than I generally deal with because one of there techs has a great reputation but we're goin on three weeks and it hasn't even been looked at. Or maybe it can find a new home

Check that the float in the carb is not set wrong or that the fuel filer is clogged, or the fuel line kinking.

Also could be a weak spark from the coil.

Always do the simple stuff first, fuel filter, air filter & plug and check that no wires are shorting out when the bar hits the wood and flexes the mounts.

Ok, tried a new coil but no go. It's got new crank bearings and seals so that shouldn't be a problem. Its got no base gasket if it was sucking air (per say the sealant didn't hold up) would that be a possibility?

I'm in it for the cider donuts... they will be at the GTG right??? I'll be sitting in a lawn chair adjacent to bone yard out back, drinking coffee and eating a donut. [emoji16]

PS: why this guy always got dat same look on his face?

I guess it's because that guy had to have all the rubber bits & the carb replaced on that saw that in the picture that was supposed to be complete.

All of this after he offered to send and/or pay for all those parts to be replaced.

Rubber parts must be more expensive in Iowa

I had a saw that did something similar. Turned out the fuel line had a thin spot from a rub and was sucking air.

Anyone interested in a nice Stihl 029? Runs excellent. Piston and cylinder look brand new. I am the original owner.
All original OEM.
Only thing done was a muffler mod, and carb retune. And regular maintenance along the way. New air filters, spark plugs, fuel filters, new fuel line a year or 3 back, bars and chains.
