Ya the 6400 is a great firewood saw not quite as athletic as the 6100 but more torque and will run forever if taken care of. and always has the potential to upgrade to a 7900 for $200

Do you need 70dl of .050 gauge? My 20" bar takes 72DL. If you need 72, Google the web special from left coast supplies. Damned good price right now.

The LPX is good chain. It's got bumper links, so it's a little bit "safety-chainy" but not bad. It's a semi-chisel, and the semi chisel with the least safety features that Oregon makes, in 3/8, anyway.

LPX is chisel, not semi chisel and the bumper links don't do anything for kickback, it is a yellow, non-safety chain.

Agree about LCS, Gregg is a great guy to deal with!

What part of VA are you in?

My experience is that HD is all over the board on selling rental stuff. Some stores don't appear to sell anything and others do. My experience is they are good buys for personal use but too little margin to flip.

No LGX is chisel too it just doesn't have the bumper like LPX has.

Oregon semi chisel in .325 is BPX and 3/8 is DPX.

As KenJax said they are both chisel. LPX has a small depth gauge and a bumper link, whereas LGX has a bigger depth gauge and no bumper link. Oregon's semi chisel chain in 3/8 is DPX.

I was actually wondering about how good of a purchase it was.

I fired it up to cut some white oak in the light of the back porch because I couldn't wait until tomorrow. The saw is smooth and strong, sounds wonderful. I've got a large white oak tree in my backyard that's marked for death soon

You did good don't worry about what you paid and if you want more power it's not hard to swap topends.
